Though details are still a little sketchy, it appears that PlayStation 4 owners will need to be members of PlayStation Plus in order to access online multiplayer sessions.
As you can see from the tweet below, sent by the official PlayStation account, it states that “PS4 gamers who aren’t PlayStation Plus members can still enjoy single player games for free.”
During the presentation, Sony also showed a slide that stated that “immersive multiplayer online” was part of the PlayStation Plus service.
PlayStation Plus cost $49.99 a year and gives users early access to beta phases, demos and free games. Users also get the ability to save files straight to the cloud.
