There are a lot of reasons why someone might want to check out a guide like T Dub Sanders'. One might be interested in the underside of the game testing field. Others might just want to know what they can gain from a guide that is written to help people understand their role in the gaming industry. Others still are just pining for that ultimate career working alongside game developers and designers.

Whatever the reason, T Dub Sanders has put together one of the biggest and best game testing guides on the market – one that shows the underpinnings of the career in their raw, real format. There are no false promises of automatic testing or sitting at home and playing the newest games for hundreds of dollars a day.

That stuff is all pretty much a pipe dream and most people know it – yet many guide writers try to tell everyone that they can become the biggest and best new game testers in a field that doesn't really exist every day and too many fall for it. On the other hand, what T Dub has put together is a much more realistic, much more comprehensive look at what game testing is really about – the hard work and dedication that goes into becoming someone in charge of all that code each day.

By showing what it really takes to be a game tester, T Dub opens up an actual, realistic path to getting into the industry. He showcases skills needed to get started as a tester, the classes or college majors that people better be willing to invest in if they want to be a professional in this field and much more to help them figure out not only if the career path is right for them but if they are going to be cut out for it. That means a great deal for someone who may or may not know exactly what a game tester does and how it operates.

For anyone that is thinking about taking the path toward becoming a game tester, one of the first things that needs to be done is to learn more about what the career entails. Those people should pick up T Dub's newest guide and get a real insider's look at the job and how it really works. If you're serious about doing what T Dub shows you, you'll be on the fast track toward game testing in no time flat.

PS4 appears on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, gets applause for allowing used games

You are here: Home » News » Knack » PS4 appears on Late Night with J...

Posted June 19th, 2013 at 14:40 EDT by Ernest Lin13 Comments

Video Game Week is underway on American late night-talk show Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, with both upcoming next-generation consoles making appearances. Earlier this week, Microsoft showed off their Xbox One, and last night, Mark Cerny was on the show to demo the PlayStation 4.

At the beginning of the segment, Jimmy Fallon explains the "big story everyone's talking about" that garners applause and cheers from the audience: that the PS4 is the only system that plays used games and doesn't require an online connection. While he's not entirely true by implying the Xbox One doesn't play used games, it's likely Microsoft's complicated restrictions on used games is causing a lot of mainstream consumers to simplify it all to "it doesn't play used games."

The rest of the video, viewable below, shows Fallon playing Cerny's upcoming game, Knack.

Stay tuned to PSU for more on PS4 and everything PlayStation.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag confirmed for PS4 launch

You are here: Home » News » Assassin's Creed IV: Black ... » Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag ...

Posted June 20th, 2013 at 05:47 EDT by Mike Harradence0 Comments

Ubisoft has announced that Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will be a launch title for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The news comes following a chinwag with game director Ashraf Ismail at ElderGeek, who confirmed that the historical action-adventure sequel “will release when the [next-gen] consoles are available.

“We are a launch title for those platforms,” he said. “Honestly, we want to push the game as fast out the door because we want people to pick up and play with it. We’re very proud of this game.”

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag takes place in the early 1700s and sees Edward Kenway – grandfather of ACIII’s Connor – plundering his way through the Caribbean alongside the legendary Blackbeard and his band of pirates.

Pin ItArticle EditDiscussWant a quick software on the internet that could edit your photos in a few minutes? Pixlr Express is one way to do that. It's similar to Photoshop, in that it lets you edit images and add effects to them, but has a much simpler interface.

Edit Steps

Opening the Site1Open up Pixlr's website. Go to http://pixlr.com/ and select 'Pixlr Express (Efficient).

2When it has finished loading, it should come up with a black screen with options on top and in the middle of the screen. Firstly, insert a link or browse any picture to upload. You can also use to collage tool as listed. The collage tool basically makes a collage of images how ever they cannot be mixed or muddled up but only separated. You can change the spacing between the images (where you can change the color of the spacing border) and the layout (For example: there is 1 image to the right and 3 images to the left). You can also change the roundness of the images and proportions.

Start Editing1When the image has opened up, you can start editing. There is a list of options on top of your picture and on the bottom. Feel free to explore the options, although this article will give an example of editing.By clicking on adjustment, you could see a wide range of simple editing tools that change your picture, not really adding to it.

Here is Adjustment 'Color'. Here is Adjustment 'Color'.By clicking on color, you can change the hue and saturation of the image. By moving the buttons from side to side you could change the darkness and color of the image.

It changed from blue to red. It changed from blue to red.2Use the 'Effect' button. This is a another section that can change your image but won't add things to it. It changes the design of the image. Try using the vintage mode; this will give the image a browner, older-looking effect.

Another list of options will open up if you choose an effect. Once you're in this list, choose which effect you like most. Experiment to see what looks best.

Kevin Vintage. Kevin Vintage.3Try using 'Overlay'. As suggested in its name, this 'overlays' the image with a pattern. Try different ones. For example, retro poster gives a photo a pronounced stand-out effect.

Retro Poster. Retro Poster.Another list of options will come up here. Choose carefully to see if you can see the image. If not, change the transparency.

Burst retro. Burst retro.4Try border next. This feature just adds a border to the image.

Ripped Paper. Ripped Paper.Select any option once you click on it. Again, you can change the amount you want or the level of transparency.

Atta Border. Atta Border.5Use Stickers. This feature adds a basic picture to the image in which you could change the color. Select a topic.Choose one that suits your purpose. Change the color if you want.

Change the size. Change the size.6Add some text to it.

Choose the font. Choose the font.Write you words in the empty box.

Change the size and color. Maybe you want to underline it or highlight it? Change the size and color. Maybe you want to underline it or highlight it?7Try different effects for different results. Try to be as creative as possible!

8When you think you're done, you can save the image by clicking on the top section's 'save' button. Choose a name and select the quality and choose the place. You're done!
