Trying to draw a background for a dolphin or mermaid? You've come to the right place--in this tutorial you will learn how to draw different kinds of ocean waves.2Draw curved lines that intersect the parallel lines.
3Add curled lines roughly corresponding with the curved lines. The curled lines should be around the ends facing the circle.
4Connect the lines to create pointy tongues of water that curve up and around the circle.
5Add drops around the image.
6Erase excess lines.
7Color the drawing. Use many nuances of blue.
Alternate Method1Draw two lines. The first one should be almost straight, but the one on the right should have some more curve to it.
2Add three curved lines. These will become the tops of waves.
3Draw three lines on the right wave to represent the current. Draw a line on the left wave to continue the top of the wave.
4Add more lines to represent the current. On top of the waves, draw squiggle lines for whitecaps.
5Add shading if desired.
6Erase unnecessary guidelines.
7Color the drawing.
