The first details on BioShock: Infinite’s planned downloadable content will be released later this month, reports Joystiq.
The website was told as much by a representative for developer Irrational Games, though it is unknown if the info will pertain to the first batch of campaign-related DLC promised by the studio. Infinite recently received a fresh content drop adding new weapons.
Irrational announced earlier this year that the critically-acclaimed shooter would receive a total of three expansion packs. While details remain under wraps, the content is expected to flesh out player’s journey in Columbia with ‘hours of additional gameplay’ along with fresh stories, characters and abilities.
Series overlord Ken Levine explained the lack of details on the DLC was due to the fact production did not start until after the main game shipped. Rumors have suggested that the expansion(s) will introduce an all-new AI companion, following a leak on a developer CV.
BioShock: Infinite is known to have had a large amount of content cut from the final product, though Levine previously confirmed that the DLC will be comprised of new content and not recycled ideas.
