It is a very healthy, wholesome curry that is extremely easy to prepare. Edit Ingredients500 grams/17.6 oz chopped cabbage100 grams/3.5 oz grated fresh coconut100 grams/3.5 oz Bengal gram4 to 5 whole and dried red chilies1 teaspoon mustard seeds1 teaspoon cumin seeds1 teaspoon white lentils2 teaspoons salt4 cups water2 teaspoons oil1 teaspoon turmeric powderEdit StepsPreparing the Sliced Cabbage1Add chopped cabbage to a large pot or saucepan.2Wash the sliced cabbage under running water. Then drain and add fresh water. Once done, bring the the water to a boil.
3Add the Bengal gram. Add salt after 5 more minutes of cooking.
4Mix together well.
5Cover the cooked cabbage and gram with a lid or plate after 10 minutes.
6Drain the stock water. Hold the pot or pan with a cloth, or use a pair of tongs.
Frying the Cabbage1Add oil to a large frying pan.2Add red chilies, cumin seeds, mustard seeds and white lentils. Sauté them for a few minutes.
3Add the boiled cabbage mixture.
4Mix well.
5Add turmeric powder.
6Mix well.
7Sprinkle the grated fresh coconut over the dish.
8Mix well.
9Serve the cabbage curry with rice or rotis.
