There are a lot of reasons why someone might want to check out a guide like T Dub Sanders'. One might be interested in the underside of the game testing field. Others might just want to know what they can gain from a guide that is written to help people understand their role in the gaming industry. Others still are just pining for that ultimate career working alongside game developers and designers.

Whatever the reason, T Dub Sanders has put together one of the biggest and best game testing guides on the market – one that shows the underpinnings of the career in their raw, real format. There are no false promises of automatic testing or sitting at home and playing the newest games for hundreds of dollars a day.

That stuff is all pretty much a pipe dream and most people know it – yet many guide writers try to tell everyone that they can become the biggest and best new game testers in a field that doesn't really exist every day and too many fall for it. On the other hand, what T Dub has put together is a much more realistic, much more comprehensive look at what game testing is really about – the hard work and dedication that goes into becoming someone in charge of all that code each day.

By showing what it really takes to be a game tester, T Dub opens up an actual, realistic path to getting into the industry. He showcases skills needed to get started as a tester, the classes or college majors that people better be willing to invest in if they want to be a professional in this field and much more to help them figure out not only if the career path is right for them but if they are going to be cut out for it. That means a great deal for someone who may or may not know exactly what a game tester does and how it operates.

For anyone that is thinking about taking the path toward becoming a game tester, one of the first things that needs to be done is to learn more about what the career entails. Those people should pick up T Dub's newest guide and get a real insider's look at the job and how it really works. If you're serious about doing what T Dub shows you, you'll be on the fast track toward game testing in no time flat.

Square planning Kingdom Hearts stage for D23 event

You are here: Home » News » Kingdom Hearts III » Square planning Kingdom Hearts ...

Posted July 3rd, 2013 at 04:39 EDT by Mike Harradence0 Comments

The Kingdom Hearts franchise will receive its own stage event at Japan’s D23 Expo in October, Square Enix has announced.

Dubbed the Kingdom Hearts Limited Stage, the event will be fronted by series director Tetsuya Nomura and executive producer Shinji Hashimoto, and includes appearances from some of the Disney-themed RPG’s voice actors.

Fans can expect chatter on the secret stories within the Kingdom Hearts universe, as well as other events that you can only experience at D23.

With Nomura-san having previously expressed his interest in divulging more information on Kingdom Hearts III at the event and TGS, we can hopefully expect some fresh details on the game to drop there.

D23’s Kingdom Hearts bash kicks off on October 14, running 15:00 – 16:00 Japan time.

Kingdom Hearts III was announced at E3 for next-generation consoles, with the compilation Kingdom Hearts 1.5 ReMIX due out exclusively on PlayStation 3 in September.

Square Enix lost first Kingdom Hearts game's data, had to 'recreate everything' for HD 1.5 Remix

In an E3 2013 interview, Kingdom Hearts director Tetsuya Nomura revealed that the original data for the first Kingdom Hearts game was lost and thus had to be recreated for the upcoming Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix remaster collection.

"Kingdom Hearts 1 was created a long, long time ago, so actually the original data was lost," explained Nomura. "So, we had to research and we had to dig out from the actual games available, and recreate everything for HD. We had to recreate graphics, and it was actually not that easy."

Keep your fingers crossed that it doesn't have an impact on your Kingdom Hearts nostalgia. From footage released, it's doubtful anyone suspected Nomura and his crew recreated everything for the HD 1.5 Remix.

Stay tuned to PSU for news on Kingdom Hearts and more.

Kingdom Hearts III is direct sequel to Dream Drop Distance, has 'intricate AI'

Square Enix’s Tetsuya Nomura has confirmed that the forthcoming Kingdom Hearts III is a direct sequel to Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, which was released on the Nintendo 3DS in 2012.

Speaking to the latest issue of Japan’s Famitsu magazine (via Polygon), Nomura-san revealed that the hotly-anticipated RPG will bring the curtains down on the Dark Seeker saga. However, the team hasn’t yet finalised what Disney worlds will be featured in the sequel.

“We have a demo version running on the actual hardware, but the action’s pretty frantic. The really bold action we’ve always had is getting even crazier. Kingdom Hearts 3 has three-person parties, but NPCs and other characters join the fight in each individual world, and the resulting action is really flashy and exciting," he said.

The enemy AI is a lot more intricate, too, and I think the gameplay will reflect that new dynamic balance. For example, there’s a foe that’s shaped like a vehicle, and Sora may jump on it and fly around; that’s already implemented.”

Of course, Nomura-san is also hard at work on the next instalment in the Final Fantasy franchise, though said both the FF and KH teams are well aware of each camp’s efforts as development pushes forward.

And, while KH3’s Production is still very much in its infancy, he promised that more information would be forthcoming, hinting at a potential update at this year’s Tokyo Game Show.

What do you hope to see from Kingdom Hearts III? Let us know in the comments section below.

Square Enix shocked everyone at Sony’s E3 press conference by announcing two future juggernauts: Final Fantasy XV (formally FF Versus XIII) and Kingdom Hearts III. While both games are a long way off, it’s worth remembering that Square is repackaging the original Kingdom Hearts, plus Re: Chain of Memories and cinematics from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days in high-definition in the U.S. and Europe this fall.

PSU.com’s Kyle Prahl and Jonathan Ottman were lucky enough to spend some hands-on time with the bundle, known as Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX, at E3 this week, and have their impressions in our latest Video Diary below.

Enjoy.

Square Enix set tongues wagging yesterday evening after officially unveiling Kingdom Hearts III for Sony’s upcoming PlayStation 4 console.

While still in the early stages of development, the company was able to offer a brief glimpse at the upcoming Disney-inspired RPG via a teaser trailer, which we’ve included below.

As previously confirmed, Square is also prepping a high-definition remake of the original Kingdom Hearts, Chain of Memories plus cinematic scenes from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, so those of you who haven’t yet delved into this majestic game world would do well to check it out.

Kingdom Hearts III has yet to attract a release date, though we imagine it’ll be a while before it shows up.

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days is a thrilling action role playing game developed by Square Enix as well as h.a.n.d and published by Square Enix. The game revolves around the life of Roxas, the main character, and explores the period of the first game of Kingdom Heart along with Kingdom Hearts 2. Nintendo DS is the platform from which the game is played. When launched in Japan it made sales of record value. Released in the US on September 29th, it is doing great here too.

This highly exiting game includes both single player mode and multiplayer mode. It follows a story mode focused on Disney World. A new game play mechanism system has been developed to customize the levels of the characters, magic, items, weapons, abilities, armor and accessories as well. The system controls the magic in this game, and certain spells cannot be used if corresponding panels are not equipped. Abilities and weapons are both equipped using panels. Multiple panels can be combined to form stronger abilities.

The multiplayer version is mission based and is separate from the single player story, including co-operative battles. 4 players are allowed to play as one of the fourteen embers of the Organization 13 with each member of the party possessing different weapons, skills and stats. This game, like the previous versions of the game progresses through a collection of various levels.

Roxas as the main character in the game has the ability to control Keyblade, a weapon used for vanquishing darkness. Axel, Roxas’s best friend plays a significant role in the game as well. Xion, a girl resembling Kairi, is also equipped with the ability to wield the Keyblade.

Play this epic game to unveil the mysteries of fantasy.
