There are a lot of reasons why someone might want to check out a guide like T Dub Sanders'. One might be interested in the underside of the game testing field. Others might just want to know what they can gain from a guide that is written to help people understand their role in the gaming industry. Others still are just pining for that ultimate career working alongside game developers and designers.

Whatever the reason, T Dub Sanders has put together one of the biggest and best game testing guides on the market – one that shows the underpinnings of the career in their raw, real format. There are no false promises of automatic testing or sitting at home and playing the newest games for hundreds of dollars a day.

That stuff is all pretty much a pipe dream and most people know it – yet many guide writers try to tell everyone that they can become the biggest and best new game testers in a field that doesn't really exist every day and too many fall for it. On the other hand, what T Dub has put together is a much more realistic, much more comprehensive look at what game testing is really about – the hard work and dedication that goes into becoming someone in charge of all that code each day.

By showing what it really takes to be a game tester, T Dub opens up an actual, realistic path to getting into the industry. He showcases skills needed to get started as a tester, the classes or college majors that people better be willing to invest in if they want to be a professional in this field and much more to help them figure out not only if the career path is right for them but if they are going to be cut out for it. That means a great deal for someone who may or may not know exactly what a game tester does and how it operates.

For anyone that is thinking about taking the path toward becoming a game tester, one of the first things that needs to be done is to learn more about what the career entails. Those people should pick up T Dub's newest guide and get a real insider's look at the job and how it really works. If you're serious about doing what T Dub shows you, you'll be on the fast track toward game testing in no time flat.

Destiny on PS4: Bungie releases gameplay demo of PSU's 'shooter that won E3'

You are here: Home » News » Destiny » Destiny on PS4: Bungie releases ...

Posted July 3rd, 2013 at 18:55 EDT by Kyle Prahl9 Comments

Bungie has released the official gameplay reveal of Destiny, its space-operatic post-Halo shooter, on PS4.

The footage below, first seen during Sony's E3 2013 media briefing, depicts Bungie developers teaming up to travel through an immense wall to explore the uncharted territory of Old Russia on the other side. Along the way, they battle various forms of the Fallen, humanoid aliens with a host of imaginative weaponry and evasive manuevers.

The game's loot and equipment systems are also briefly displayed. The demo narrator's character--a Human Warlock--acquires the Thunderlord, an "exotic machinegun" that he purports to be one of Destiny's best weapons. We also get a glimpse at the gun's talent tree, confirming that weapons in Destiny have numerous unlockable upgrades--including radical changes to the weapon's function and power--that can be acquired with talent points.

PSU awarded Destiny our E3 2013 Best Shooter award, recognizing Bungie's next-gen title as "THE shooter that won E3."

Kyle Prahl was mighty disappointed to learn Destiny won't be coming out until next year. You can follow him on Twitter and Facebook for the musings of a PSU Managing Editor.

Bungie: 'Destiny will be released to the world in 2014'

Posted June 26th, 2013 at 14:09 EDT by Ernest Lin1 Comments

Bungie confirmed via Twitter today that their ambitious upcoming game Destiny will be released in 2014, dispelling any speculation of the title coming out later this year.

The studio that created Marathon, Myth, and most famously, Halo, tweeted, "Destiny will be released to the world in 2014. If you haven't received more specific details from us, they don't exist. #becomelegend"

After seeing the game at E3, this news means I'll have to wait quite some time before entering the world of Destiny, but I'm sure it will be worth the wait. Destiny will be released on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.

A fresh batch of artwork and screens on former Halo developer Bungie’s Destiny have spilled onto the Internet today following its impressive showing at Sony’s E3 press event yesterday evening.

The sci-fi FPS was demonstrated in real-time at the conference, rendering onlookers jaw-dropped thanks to its scrumptious visuals, fluid gameplay and stunning art direction. Clearly, Bungie is chiselling away on quite the ambitious title with this multiplayer-heavy effort, which it labels a “shared-world shooter.”

Check out the screenshots in our gallery and stay tuned to PSU.com for all the latest news, trailer and images from E3 as we get them.

Destiny will ship for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. A release date has yet to be announced.

A new trailer for Bungie's upcoming online evolving shooter Destiny not only gave a glimpse of the adventures gamers will embark on, but revealed when and where gameplay footage will be unveiled.

The worldwide gameplay reveal will be at Sony's PlayStation E3 press conference on June 10. As Xbox has Call of Duty as a multiplatform shooter which they get exclusive timed content for, Destiny is aligning itself in that way for PlayStation. Back during the PS4 reveal in February, Activision announced that the PlayStation versions of Destiny will receive exclusive content.

Check out the trailer below and stay tuned to PSU for breaking news on Destiny, PS4, and more.
