There are a lot of reasons why someone might want to check out a guide like T Dub Sanders'. One might be interested in the underside of the game testing field. Others might just want to know what they can gain from a guide that is written to help people understand their role in the gaming industry. Others still are just pining for that ultimate career working alongside game developers and designers.

Whatever the reason, T Dub Sanders has put together one of the biggest and best game testing guides on the market – one that shows the underpinnings of the career in their raw, real format. There are no false promises of automatic testing or sitting at home and playing the newest games for hundreds of dollars a day.

That stuff is all pretty much a pipe dream and most people know it – yet many guide writers try to tell everyone that they can become the biggest and best new game testers in a field that doesn't really exist every day and too many fall for it. On the other hand, what T Dub has put together is a much more realistic, much more comprehensive look at what game testing is really about – the hard work and dedication that goes into becoming someone in charge of all that code each day.

By showing what it really takes to be a game tester, T Dub opens up an actual, realistic path to getting into the industry. He showcases skills needed to get started as a tester, the classes or college majors that people better be willing to invest in if they want to be a professional in this field and much more to help them figure out not only if the career path is right for them but if they are going to be cut out for it. That means a great deal for someone who may or may not know exactly what a game tester does and how it operates.

For anyone that is thinking about taking the path toward becoming a game tester, one of the first things that needs to be done is to learn more about what the career entails. Those people should pick up T Dub's newest guide and get a real insider's look at the job and how it really works. If you're serious about doing what T Dub shows you, you'll be on the fast track toward game testing in no time flat.

New Soul Sacrifice update detailed

You are here: Home » News » Soul Sacrifice » New Soul Sacrifice update detail...

Posted June 3rd, 2013 at 04:54 EDT by Mike Harradence0 Comments

The next batch of content for PlayStation Vita’s soul-sucking actioner Soul Sacrifice includes a brand new story episode, Sony has confirmed.

The patch is currently being prepped for release in Japan, though like the first chunk of content we expect it to eventually make its way to western shores.

Among the new additions include more canned phrases for text chat, the ability to view rewards for quests, plus tweaks to the game’s compass.

Perhaps the juiciest addition however is the story-based Savior of Heresy, which focuses on the secret society known as Avalon. Here, players sneak into the Sanctuary after hearing of an impending sacrifice, and encounter a woman named Elaine along the way.

Soul Sacrifice was released on PS Vita in April, and picked up a handsome 8.0 from PSU.com in our review.

Let us know your thoughts on the game below.

PS4 PlayGo 'play as you download' feature detailed for Killzone: Shadow Fall

You are here: Home » News » Killzone: Shadow Fall » PS4 PlayGo 'play as you download...

Posted May 30th, 2013 at 17:33 EDT by Will Robinson5 Comments

During Sony’s PlayStation Meeting back in February, one of the key features shared about PlayStation 4 was its ability to play games as you download them. So far, Sony has yet to reveal much information on how this functionality works. Thanks to a new developer diary released today, we know how Killzone: Shadow Fall will be able to do this.

“You can play it while it’s downloading,” states Guerilla Games' technical director Michiel van der Leeuw. “You’re going to download a chunk of the game, you get the menu and the first level and while you’re playing the first level it downloads the second level in the background.”

Killzone: Shadow Fall was one of our first looks into the next generation of gaming on PlayStation 4, and its debut is eagerly awaited. Set as a PS4 launch title, Killzone: Shadow Fall’s release date is still unknown.

Are you excited for a new Killzone? What do you think of the “play as you download” feature? How do you think this feature will work with games like open-world RPGs? Let us know in the comments below!

Posted May 29th, 2013 at 03:32 EDT by Lazar Odic5 Comments

Naughty Dog has revealed a Season Pass and the first round of DLC for its survival action adventure, The Last Of Us.

The Last of Us Season Pass will cost you $19.99 and include 3 DLC packs. The first DLC pack will be single-player driven, Eric Monacelli from Naughty Dog explains: "The journey and cast of characters in The Last of Us lends itself to thorough narrative exploration and we've got more of the story to tell."

The other two packs are multiplayer related and are going to offer more maps along with other expansions. We don't know much about The Last of Us multiplayer, but Monacelli says we'll be learning more in the days to come.

If that isn't enough for you, Season Pass holders will have access to the following unique day one bonuses and an exclusive 90 minute making of video titled "Grounded":

• Increased Crafting Speed
• Increased Healing Speed
• 9mm Reload Speed Upgrade
• Rifle Clip Capacity Upgrade
• Grounded – exclusive 90min “Making of The Last of Us” documentary

Our review of The Last Of Us will be live shortly.

Saint's Row IV Commander In Chief Edition detailed

Posted May 28th, 2013 at 08:00 EDT by Mike Harradence1 Comments

Saints Row IV: Commander In Chief Edition will be made available as a pre-order and First Edition in PAL territories, Deep Silver has announced.

This will net players a Screaming Eagle plane, complete with rocket-firing talons and a fear-inducing Sonic Scream attack.  In addition, you’ll also receive the limited edition Uncle Sam outfit and the Merica Gun, which packs an insane amount of fire power under the hood.

Saints Row IV continues the over-the-top template laid down by its predecessor, with gamers revisiting the gang’s leader as he finds himself President of the United States in the midst of an alien invasion.

The game hits stores in August for PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360.

Posted May 24th, 2013 at 08:01 EDT by Mike Harradence2 Comments

GAME has bagged exclusive rights to the Deluxe Edition release of hotly-anticipated shooter Battlefield 4.

The content-heavy pack features not only the China Rising expansion pack, but a host of extra goodies to boot.

China Rising itself includes a hefty amount of extras as it is, specifically four new maps and new vehicles/gear.

In addition to this, the Deluxe Edition includes a Collectible Steelbook cover as well a bunch of bonus in-game content. The Deluxe Edition will set you back £64.99 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and costs a tenner less on PC. Next-generation versions SKUs have yet to be confirmed.

Battlefield 4 will be released in North America on October 29 and in the U.K. on November 1. That’s on PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 we should point out, as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One editions won’t arrive until ‘this holiday.’
