There are a lot of reasons why someone might want to check out a guide like T Dub Sanders'. One might be interested in the underside of the game testing field. Others might just want to know what they can gain from a guide that is written to help people understand their role in the gaming industry. Others still are just pining for that ultimate career working alongside game developers and designers.

Whatever the reason, T Dub Sanders has put together one of the biggest and best game testing guides on the market – one that shows the underpinnings of the career in their raw, real format. There are no false promises of automatic testing or sitting at home and playing the newest games for hundreds of dollars a day.

That stuff is all pretty much a pipe dream and most people know it – yet many guide writers try to tell everyone that they can become the biggest and best new game testers in a field that doesn't really exist every day and too many fall for it. On the other hand, what T Dub has put together is a much more realistic, much more comprehensive look at what game testing is really about – the hard work and dedication that goes into becoming someone in charge of all that code each day.

By showing what it really takes to be a game tester, T Dub opens up an actual, realistic path to getting into the industry. He showcases skills needed to get started as a tester, the classes or college majors that people better be willing to invest in if they want to be a professional in this field and much more to help them figure out not only if the career path is right for them but if they are going to be cut out for it. That means a great deal for someone who may or may not know exactly what a game tester does and how it operates.

For anyone that is thinking about taking the path toward becoming a game tester, one of the first things that needs to be done is to learn more about what the career entails. Those people should pick up T Dub's newest guide and get a real insider's look at the job and how it really works. If you're serious about doing what T Dub shows you, you'll be on the fast track toward game testing in no time flat.

Far Cry 4 teases by Ubisoft: 'Something is cooking!'

You are here: Home » News » Electronic Entertainment Expo [E3... » Beyond Good & Evil 2 » Far Cry 4 teases by Ubisoft...

Posted June 20th, 2013 at 05:08 EDT by Mike Harradence0 Comments

Ubisoft is expected to have a number of high-profile titles in the works, among which include Far Cry 4, Beyond Good & Evil 2 and a new instalment in the Prince of Persia franchise.

Speaking with Eurogamer at E3, the French publisher’s European chief Alain Corre indicated that the first one on the cards will be a follow-up to last year’s critically-acclaimed Far Cry 3.

“We haven’t announced anything yet,” said Corre, when quizzed on a possible Far Cry 4. “We’re thinking of the future of this brand. We don’t know yet when it will emerge. Again, it’s cooking. Something is cooking!”

One particular Ubisoft property that has been on hiatus for a while is Prince of Persia. Still, it sounds like we may get something later down the line.

"All our franchises are always in gestation," Corre countered. "We are iterating. We are thinking about what can be done. But we can't bring all the games and all the franchises every year. We have a lot on the show floor this year already.

"It will happen when we feel it is ready, when the creators have brought something interesting. That's the case for all our franchises. They're cooking. Some are cooking longer than others, but they're cooking."

How about Beyond Good & Evil 2 though? Ubisoft originally showcased a teaser trailer for a sequel at its Ubidays event in 2008, though since then everything has gone silent. However, it is now believed to be a next-generation project, though creator Michel Ancel has had to put it on the backburner while he completes Rayman Legends.

Many anticipated a reveal at E3 last week after Ubisoft posted a character render on its Facebook page, though company boss Yves Guillemot later said that this was merely homage to the publisher’s back catalogue rather than a tease.

"There are some works on it," said Corre. "There are some iterations on it. Now, some games are taking longer to be done, depending also on the creativity the creator can bring. You see the level of quality of the games today is very high. It takes time to find the right angle and message.

"It's true that the trailer we showed years ago, in the desert with the pig sneezing and flies still resonates very well. These kind of brands are part of Ubisoft's DNA.

"It will happen when it will be perfect."

Eidos Montreal teases Deus Ex: The Fall reveal

You are here: Home » News » Deus Ex Human Revolution 2 » Eidos Montreal teases Deus Ex: T...

Posted June 3rd, 2013 at 22:22 EDT by Steve Chaffin3 Comments

Eidos Montreal, fueling an aura of mystery that has left the gaming community baffled, tweeted today a teaser for Deus Ex: The Fall, reading "Where will YOU take The Fall?" and accompanied by a Vine video snippet. When viewed, a voice asks "Are we ready to begin?" in the background.

In the video game industry, hype is usually the result of some snippet of gameplay, or a few transfixing words from a developer. This is not the case with Deus Ex: The Fall, as aside from a few domains registered by Square Enix and the developer's tweet today, absolutely nothing is known about the project. There has been some speculation that this mysterious title is merely another round of downloadable content for Deus Ex: Human Revolution, but considering the last round of DLC for the game was released in October 2011, it's an unlikely scenario.

The tweet does, however, foreshadow the end of Eidos' secret project, reading "05/06/13" under the header of Deus Ex: The Fall. While nothing can be for certain, we can infer that more information concerning this title will be unveiled in the next couple of days on June 5, and even more information will likely be revealed at this year's E3.

What do you think about Deus Ex: The Fall? Is this just a late round of DLC meant to revive interest in Human Revolution, or is Eidos attempting to garner hype for an ambiguous, standalone sequel? Telltale Games teases second season of The Walking Dead

Today, Twitter became the preferred platform for developers looking to tease upcoming projects. With Eidos-Montreal teasing the mysterious Deus Ex: The Fall, Telltale Games also took to Twitter to tease an upcoming reveal for its The Walking Dead: The Game for PS3 and PS Vita.

A Vine video-clip was posted on the Telltale Games Twitter feed, accompanied by the test "Day 2". In the teaser, pictures of two female characters are shown side-by-side, with one of them sporting a TTG shirt promoting the developer Telltale Games. It also shows a man, possibly the game's Lee Everret, putting down a paper of another man's picture with the name Vince written on it.

The writer for The Walking Dead, Gary Whitta, revealed that the second season to the popular game would be coming in 2013. Could this be a tease for what's to come at E3 on June 11-13? Stay tuned here at PSU.com for more information on Telltale Game's The Walking Dead, and view PSU's official The Walking Dead game page.

Naughty Dog teases The Last of Us multiplayer yet again

You are here: Home » News » The Last of Us » Naughty Dog teases The Last of U...

Posted May 29th, 2013 at 05:32 EDT by Mike Harradence1 Comments

The Last of Us’ single-player campaign has endured a hefty amount of time in the limelight over the past 12 months or so, but something that still continues to remain elusive just a fortnight ahead of the game’s release is the multiplayer offering.

Developer Naughty Dog has kept mum on its online component for the hotly-anticipated post-apocalyptic adventure, leaving many to question whether it’ll be up to scratch, let alone what it’ll consist of.

However, with the game’s release due in mind-June, the company has taken to the PlayStation Blog to drip-feed us a few new tidbits on the elusive mode.

Specifically, Eric Monacelli, community strategist at Naughty Dog, confirmed the multiplayer “continues the themes, tone and tension from the single-player campaign.” Fresh details are expected “over the next couple of days.”

Naughty Dog previously confirmed that The Last of Us will receive three DLC packs.

A new trailer for Bungie's upcoming online evolving shooter Destiny not only gave a glimpse of the adventures gamers will embark on, but revealed when and where gameplay footage will be unveiled.

The worldwide gameplay reveal will be at Sony's PlayStation E3 press conference on June 10. As Xbox has Call of Duty as a multiplatform shooter which they get exclusive timed content for, Destiny is aligning itself in that way for PlayStation. Back during the PS4 reveal in February, Activision announced that the PlayStation versions of Destiny will receive exclusive content.

Check out the trailer below and stay tuned to PSU for breaking news on Destiny, PS4, and more.
