The developer behind the PlayStation 3-exclusive hit Journey has revealed that it has started to receive royalties for the critically-acclaimed adventure, which released in March 2012.
It’s a well-known fact that development of the Indie title virtually bankrupt Thatgamecompany after production overran by a year, eating up most of the studio’s backup resources.
However, the game has finally become profitable for the troubled studio, co-founder Jenova Chen has said.
“It seems that Journey sales are not really going away,” said Chen, during a chinwag with Family Gamer TV. “I’m quite curious to see what happens this quarter.”
Journey casts players in the role of a mysterious robed figured as they attempt to reach a lonely mountain far off in the distance. How you get there and who you cooperate with is entirely up to you.
