Beta Game Testers Needed: conference

PSU.com will be live streaming the Sony press conference live right here at this very page.

You don’t need to do anything but bookmark this link and visit us on 10 June, 6pm PST (2am BST) when the show is due to begin.
Note – if you’re watching in the U.K. or Europe then that will be the early hours of 11 June.

If you want to chat with core PlayStation fans and share your views on what’s revealed, which is bound to include the first glimpse at the PlayStation 4, then please join us in our busy community forums. The build-up will begin hours before the conference kicks off on 10 June.

After hosting a very successful live stream for the PlayStation 4 Reveal Meeting in February, PSU will bring you all the news as it happens from editors live at the conference and on the show floor throughout the week.

E3 2013: all your press conference times in one place

The video game industry will be turning all its attention to Los Angeles next week, as all three platform holders will be out in force for what is going to be unequivocally one of the biggest E3's in its lengthy history. After all, not only will we be getting a glimpse at the hottest upcoming releases, but Sony and Microsoft are poised to fully unveil their next-generation consoles in the shape of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, respectively.

Aside from press events from the Big Three (well, in Nintendo’s case, a more subdued Nintendo Direct broadcast), major publishers such as Electronic Arts and Ubisoft will also be hosting press conferences of their own, eager to share with us the latest upcoming triple-A software releases.

Naturally there’s a lot to take in, but to make your viewing pleasure slightly easier, we’ve compiled a list of all press conferences and the times they’re due to kick off, allowing you to slot them into your diary without fear of missing anything.

Sony’s press conference will be available to stream in the usual place such as the PlayStation Blog, but you can also watch it on the PlayStation Vita too. More details on this are expected to drop soon.

This week, Konami released a 16-second, pre-E3 clip teasing the altered voice of Solid Snake in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

For PlayStation gamers in particular, voice actor David Hayter's ability to portray the ever-skeptical and stubborn Solid Snake (and Big Boss) had become a trademark of the series. When it was announced that Hayter would no longer serve as the voice actor for the sequel, many die-hard fans of the franchise were concerned that Snake would suddenly seem unreal and unfamiliar--a strike to the game's authenticity.

As GameSpot's video indicates, we have only to wait for Konami's E3 2013 show (livestreaming exclusively on GameSpot) for the truth of who will voice Snake in MGS V.

Watch Sony's E3 press conference on PlayStation Vita

Sony has confirmed that you’ll be able to watch its E3 2013 press conference on your PlayStation Vita.

Details are still up in the at present, with Fred Dutton, head of the European PlayStation Blog, stating that “we’re finalizing plans now,” but did assure that you will “be able to watch the show somewhere, somehow on your Vita.”

Sony’s E3 presser kicks off at 6.00 p.m. PST on June 10, taking place on the same day as rival Microsoft and publishing powerhouse Ubisoft's own events.

Elsewhere, Dutton revealed that Sony “don’t look much further ahead than a month or two” in regards to PlayStation Plus’s free games output. Favourites XCOM and Ni no Kuni are not currently planned for Europe’s Instant Games Collection, apparently.

A new trailer for Bungie's upcoming online evolving shooter Destiny not only gave a glimpse of the adventures gamers will embark on, but revealed when and where gameplay footage will be unveiled.

The worldwide gameplay reveal will be at Sony's PlayStation E3 press conference on June 10. As Xbox has Call of Duty as a multiplatform shooter which they get exclusive timed content for, Destiny is aligning itself in that way for PlayStation. Back during the PS4 reveal in February, Activision announced that the PlayStation versions of Destiny will receive exclusive content.
