There are a lot of reasons why someone might want to check out a guide like T Dub Sanders'. One might be interested in the underside of the game testing field. Others might just want to know what they can gain from a guide that is written to help people understand their role in the gaming industry. Others still are just pining for that ultimate career working alongside game developers and designers.

Whatever the reason, T Dub Sanders has put together one of the biggest and best game testing guides on the market – one that shows the underpinnings of the career in their raw, real format. There are no false promises of automatic testing or sitting at home and playing the newest games for hundreds of dollars a day.

That stuff is all pretty much a pipe dream and most people know it – yet many guide writers try to tell everyone that they can become the biggest and best new game testers in a field that doesn't really exist every day and too many fall for it. On the other hand, what T Dub has put together is a much more realistic, much more comprehensive look at what game testing is really about – the hard work and dedication that goes into becoming someone in charge of all that code each day.

By showing what it really takes to be a game tester, T Dub opens up an actual, realistic path to getting into the industry. He showcases skills needed to get started as a tester, the classes or college majors that people better be willing to invest in if they want to be a professional in this field and much more to help them figure out not only if the career path is right for them but if they are going to be cut out for it. That means a great deal for someone who may or may not know exactly what a game tester does and how it operates.

For anyone that is thinking about taking the path toward becoming a game tester, one of the first things that needs to be done is to learn more about what the career entails. Those people should pick up T Dub's newest guide and get a real insider's look at the job and how it really works. If you're serious about doing what T Dub shows you, you'll be on the fast track toward game testing in no time flat.

Codemasters kicks off Grid 2 Rockstar Race Challenge

You are here: Home » News » GRID 2 » Codemasters kicks off Grid 2 Roc...

Posted June 7th, 2013 at 13:05 EDT by Steve Chaffin0 Comments

Grid 2, Codemaster's recently released psuedo-simulation racing title that released late last month to critical acclaim, is already adding to its effort to bring gamers together through its in game service, RaceNet, with the announcement today of the Grid 2 Rockstar Racer Challenge.

Launched by the developer and Rockstar Energy Drink, this new challenge will permit players to put their skills to the "ultimate test". Hosted through Grid 2's RaceNet, the challenge will be held each week for the next five weeks, providing a platform for gamers to demonstrate their talent behind the wheel against other top-notch racers.

The Rockstar Race Challenge is more than a means to inflate gamers' online-ego, also offering a number of tangible rewards. All participants will receive a Rockstar liveried Aston Martin Vanquish for entering, and the top-ten participants can expect much more, including a $100 gift card to GameStop, a pair of sunglasses, Skullcandy headphones, T-shirts, and a year-long supply of Rockstar Energy Drink.

Codemasters has emphasized its intentions to consistently bring its racing community together, and so it is likely that the Rockstar Race Challenge is only the first of many contests and tournaments. Stay tuned at PSU.com, and on Twitter @PSUdotcom, for all the latest on Grid 2.

Rockstar to unveil GTA V multiplayer info 'soon'

You are here: Home » News » Grand Theft Auto V » Rockstar to unveil GTA V multipl...

Posted May 20th, 2013 at 08:21 EDT by Mike Harradence0 Comments

Rockstar will reveal details on Grand Theft Auto V’s multiplayer component “soon.”

Details on the game’s online mode have been kept under wraps since the crime sequel’s unveiling in late 2011; however, all that look set to change soon enough.

Writing on its official website, the company said that those of us awaiting news on the game’s multiplayer offering should “stay tuned for first info soon.”

“We haven’t detailed the features of Grand Theft Auto V’s online mode as yet (stay tuned for first info soon),” said Rockstar, “but there’s already a whole slew of Crews rallying, preparing and raring to go.”

GTA V is due out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in September. The game features the largest open-world in Rockstar history, and allows players to jump freely between three playable protagonists.

Sadly the game won’t be showcased at E3 next month, but Rockstar plans to reveal new info via a series of dedicated events over the summer.

Stay tuned to PSU.com for more details.

Agent isn't dead yet, Rockstar Linkedin profile cites ongoing development

You are here: Home » News » Agent » Agent isn't dead yet, Rockstar L...

Posted May 16th, 2013 at 14:50 EDT by Kyle Prahl5 Comments

Incredibly, against all odds, Agent--the Rockstar Games spy thriller announced in 2009 as a PS3 exclusive--is still in development, after long-standing rumors of cancellation or indefinite delay.

The last official word we heard of Agent was at E3 2011, when SCEA CEO Jack Tretton said he wasn't sure if the game was still a PS3 exclusive. In the months and years since, the game has dropped completely off the map, being left out of everything from gaming conventions to Take-Two earnings calls.

But now, we have seeming confirmation that the game still exists and is currently in development alongside Grand Theft Auto V. Jon Young, Research Video Editor at Rockstar Games, had the following to say on his LinkedIn profile:

"Cull the history of film, TV, web television and documentaries editing and submitting video shorts and feature length DVDs to department VPs contributing largely to the production of Rockstar Games’ highest profile releases: GTA IV, Midnight Club Los Angeles, Red Dead Redemption, Max Payne 3 and many in development e.g., GTA V, AGENT"

E3 2013 will be the next generation's coming out party, with a great deal of focus given to PlayStation 4 and "next Xbox" announcements and reveals. Will we see more of Agent in just a few short weeks?
