Disney Infinity gameplay video shows how you can create a game in any genre

At a pre-E3 event in Los Angeles, Disney Interactive has showcased Disney Infinity, a brand new innovation that takes advantage of both Disney and Pixar characters and storylines.

Disney Infinity takes its inspiration from Skylanders, the game where players could buy models of their favourite characters to use them in-game. Characters include Jack Sparrow, Mr Incredible and Sully from Monsters University. Each character will have its own storyline while a Toy Box mode will allow players to create brand new worlds and game modes.

Up to four players will be supported and users will be able to share their created content.

The video below shows how to game’s Toy Box mode could be used to create a game from every conceivable genre.

Disney Infinity is due to launch on PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, Wii U and PC on August 18.

PlayStation 4’s Killzone: Shadow Fall has set tongues wagging all over the web since its unveiling back in February, but the last place we expected it to receive air time is on Microsoft’s own Facebook page.

Indeed, it seems the Big M made a major blunder today when teasing its E3 games showcase, with Microsoft Netherland's Facebook page posting a screenshot of Shadow Fall for all to see. Or perhaps they’re just a closet fan of Guerrilla Games’ acclaimed sci-fi shooter series and couldn't contain their anticipation -- who knows?

The game appears alongside the likes of Forza 5, Call of Duty: Ghosts and the new Madden. Check it out below.

Still, whatever gets the word around, eh folks?

A new developer documentary for Ubisoft's open-world hackathon Watch Dogs shows off the motion capture process for protagonist Aiden Pearce, as played by mo-cap actor Sébastien Rouleau.

What makes this vignette especially interesting is hearing that Rouleau is actually more athletic than Ubisoft envisions Aiden Pearce to be. As such, while Rouleau can pull off the parkour and combat moves that bring Aiden to life, the animators have to periodically slow down the mo-cap footage to more realistic levels.

We also get a taste of Aiden's fighting style, which is dirty and to-the-point. This cunning tech-master wastes no time putting the hurt on his opponents in whatever ways possible--you won't find stylized kung-fu or exaggerated techniques here.

Fresh evidence supporting the development of a sequel to Mirror’s Edge has reared its head today, after a listing for the game appeared on ‘help’ section of Electronic Arts’ website.

There’s not much to see unfortunately, with the page simply listing ‘Mirror’s Edge 2’ and that’s about it.

The game also showed up on a few retail listings in the past week or so, most recently for Xbox One on Amazon Italy.

Of course, publisher Electronic Arts has yet to officially announce a follow-up to the 2008 cult classic, but has always maintained it hadn’t given up on the franchise. As such, chatter on a sequel has been doing the rounds for the past couple of years.

With E3 just around the corner, Mirror’s Edge 2 could very well become a reality in the next two weeks.
