There are a lot of reasons why someone might want to check out a guide like T Dub Sanders'. One might be interested in the underside of the game testing field. Others might just want to know what they can gain from a guide that is written to help people understand their role in the gaming industry. Others still are just pining for that ultimate career working alongside game developers and designers.

Whatever the reason, T Dub Sanders has put together one of the biggest and best game testing guides on the market – one that shows the underpinnings of the career in their raw, real format. There are no false promises of automatic testing or sitting at home and playing the newest games for hundreds of dollars a day.

That stuff is all pretty much a pipe dream and most people know it – yet many guide writers try to tell everyone that they can become the biggest and best new game testers in a field that doesn't really exist every day and too many fall for it. On the other hand, what T Dub has put together is a much more realistic, much more comprehensive look at what game testing is really about – the hard work and dedication that goes into becoming someone in charge of all that code each day.

By showing what it really takes to be a game tester, T Dub opens up an actual, realistic path to getting into the industry. He showcases skills needed to get started as a tester, the classes or college majors that people better be willing to invest in if they want to be a professional in this field and much more to help them figure out not only if the career path is right for them but if they are going to be cut out for it. That means a great deal for someone who may or may not know exactly what a game tester does and how it operates.

For anyone that is thinking about taking the path toward becoming a game tester, one of the first things that needs to be done is to learn more about what the career entails. Those people should pick up T Dub's newest guide and get a real insider's look at the job and how it really works. If you're serious about doing what T Dub shows you, you'll be on the fast track toward game testing in no time flat.

Pin ItArticle EditDiscussCake pops or balls are a great way to indulge in baking cake in an interesting and unique way, all without having to modify a standard cake recipe. Petite in size, cake pops can be enjoyed by kids and adults for any occasion.

Edit Ingredients

Makes approx. 48 cake balls

Cake PopsYour favorite vanilla cake recipe1 (13.5 ounce) can coconut milk1 1/2 cups sweetened flaked coconut1/4 to 1/2 cup vanilla icing

Coating and Decoration1 bag (24 ounces) chocolate melts1/2 cup sweetened flaked coconut

Edit Steps

Part One: Creating the Cake Mixture1Bake the cake. Follow the specific recipe you are using, in addition to adding the flaked coconut. Substitute the coconut milk for any milk or water asked in the cake batter. Be sure to follow the regular ingredient amounts, instructions, oven temperatures, and baking times as well.

2Slice the cake. Using a damp knife, cut the cake in sections or quarters. This allows the insides of the cake to cool down faster, rather than having the cake cool down from the outside in.

3Crumble the cake. When the cake pieces have reached room temperature or are cool enough to handle, use your hands to crumble the cake in a large mixing bowl. Break down any chunks, especially any hard corners.

4Add the icing. Start off with 1/4 cup of icing in the bowl. Use a wooden spoon to thoroughly incorporate the cake crumbs and icing together until you achieve a consistency of dough, as if you're making cookie dough. Add additional icing, if needed.

5Refrigerate the mixture. Chilling the mixture makes it easier for you to roll it into balls.

Part Two: Making the Cake Balls1Scoop the mixture. Use a cookie dough scooper to help you make even ball amounts, about 1 tablespoon (15 grams). To avoid multitasking, scoop the entire mixture and place the balls onto a flat surface (such as a baking sheet or counter top), lined with parchment paper.

2Roll the cake balls. Use both palms of your hands and circle each ball in a circular motion, to allow any flat surfaces to become evenly round.

3Chill the cake balls. For the best results, it's recommended that you refrigerate the cake balls for at least two hours. By doing this, any coating won't affect the prepared cake when dipping.

Part Three: Dipping the Cake Balls1Melt the chocolate. You can either use a microwave-safe bowl or create a double boiler. Stir the chocolate to make sure everything is melted evenly.

2Insert sticks into the cake balls. Prick them in the center, just enough to pick them up from the parchment paper and hold.

If you're planning to present the cake balls on a stick, it's recommended that you use lollipop sticks, which can be found in specialty baking aisles. Dip about 1/2 inch (1.27 cm) of the stick into the melted chocolate prior to inserting them into the cake balls. If you're planning to present the cake balls in decorative individual wrappers, poke them with toothpicks.3Dip the cake balls. While holding the lollipop stick or toothpick, submerge the cake ball into the melted chocolate. When lifting it back up, gently lift them in a swirling motion or give them a gentle shake.

If you are using toothpicks, remove them from the balls. Add a very small amount of extra melted chocolate to cover the holes. You can use the back of a spoon to evenly spread out any extra coating as well.4Repeat with the rest. Place the chocolate covered cake ball in the same place on the waxed paper. Pick up the next one and repeat the dipping until everything is covered.

Part Four: Decorating the Cake Balls1Drizzle additional melted chocolate on top. You can create even zig-zag lines by moving your arm back and forth in an uniform way across the entire sheet of cake balls.2Use the flaked coconut on the cake balls. You can either sprinkle by hand or dip it in the coconut while the chocolate is still in a liquid state, if you're not drizzling chocolate on top.

3Chill the cake balls again. To ensure a hard coating and for any topping to appear more uniform, place the cake balls in the freezer or refrigerator for about an hour or two.

4Finished.

Edit TipsThese can also be created into small bars. Instead of rolling them into round balls, mold them into squares before dipping.

Pin ItArticle EditDiscussFluid retention occurs when the body cannot get rid of excess water. Fluid retention can occur for a variety of reasons, but most commonly it is caused by premenstrual syndrome in women, too much salt in your diet or as a side effect from medication. As a result of fluid retention, there may be some swelling of the body especially in the legs, ankles, hands, feet and abdomen. There are many natural ways of treating fluid retention by expelling excess water from the body and hydrating properly. Here are a few steps on how to treat fluid retention.

Edit Steps

Sensible Nutrition1Eat foods with diuretic properties. There is a long list of diuretic foods and some of the more well-known foods include celery, lettuce, carrots, onion, asparagus, tomato and cucumber.

2Consume daily vitamins that can aid in reducing fluid retention. You can either take vitamin capsules or get the vitamins by selecting food sources known to be high in the relevant vitamins. In particular, watch for:

Vitamin B6: This is known to reduce the effects of fluid retention, especially in mild cases such as fluid retention due to premenstrual syndrome. Large quantities of vitamin B6 can be found in foods such as red meat, salmon, tuna, bananas and brown rice.Vitamin B5, vitamin B1 and vitamin D: These vitamins will reduce water retention. They can be found in foods such as fresh fruits and low-fat dairy.Supplement minerals such as calcium, magnesium, manganese and potassium can help with water retention as well. These minerals are known to act as mild diuretics to help the body release excess water. Calcium is found in yogurt, milk and dark leafy greens like spinach. Potassium helps the body to get rid of excess fluid in the body, but also stabilizes the amount of sodium within the body. Potassium is found in fruit such as citrus and melons.3Lessen your intake of salt and salty foods. Too much salt in the body can cause fluid retention to worsen. Many processed foods contain high values of sodium that should also be avoided, so check the nutritional information on products you eat to make sure that they do not contain high levels of sodium. Avoid adding additional table salt to your food, and stay away from salty snacks like chips, peanuts and pretzels.

4Avoid drinks that will dehydrate the body such as tea, coffee and alcohol. Although caffeine and alcohol is a diuretic, consuming it will only dehydrate you and worsen fluid retention.

Switch to fruit and herbal tea and coffee varieties, such as peppermint tea, lemon tea and dandelion coffee. In place of alcohol, try non-alcoholic counterparts, such as non-alcoholic beer or non-alcoholic ciders.

Getting Adequate Water1Drink plenty of water. If you are aware that your fluid retention is due to premenstrual syndrome, too much salt in your diet or other minor cause, added water will likely have a positive impact. You may feel that you have enough water in your body already, but being well hydrated will help you flush out excess water instead of storing it in your body.

There's no need to buy water. Treated tap water in most developed areas should be safe and adequate for your needs.

Herbal Remedies1Consider using herbs as diuretics to release excess water and lessen the effects of fluid retention. There are many herbs that work as diuretics; among them are dandelion leaf, parsley, corn silk and hawthorn.

2Take a ginkgo supplement or drink it in a tea. Ginkgo can help with circulation, so it may benefit you if you have water retention due to circulation problems.

Physical Solutions1Exercise often to release excess body fluid and increase circulation. Exercise can greatly help with fluid retention problems because the body will heat up and sweat out excess water, and better circulation will reduce and prevent fluid retention in the future.

2Sleep with your feet elevated higher than your heart. Just place pillows under your legs to make then higher then your heart when you lay down.

Edit TipsDehydration can cause fluid retention because when the body is dehydrated it holds onto water instead of allowing the body to dispel it. In order for the body to process fluid correctly, it must be properly and consistently hydrated. The body will then use the fluid that is necessary to keep it hydrated, and dispel excess fluid instead of holding onto it, causing fluid retention. If you believe fluid retention may be the cause of dehydration you may be experiencing thirst, lack of urination, weakness, dizziness, cramping, headaches and dry mouth.

Edit WarningsDo not take any new supplements before consulting your doctor, especially if you are currently taking any medication.Do not consume large amounts of water to treat fluid retention if you have chronic liver problems. Consult your doctor if you have liver problems, or believe you may have liver problems and are experiencing fluid retention in your abdomen or other parts of the body. Water consumption can have a negative effect on organs trying to process excess fluid in the body already.Be careful when consuming herbs to treat water retention. Many herbs are not regulated and can have negative effects on the body if consumed in excess. Consult a physician for the best method to relieve fluid retention in your body.

Top 5 badass PlayStation tattoos

You are here: Home » Features » Top 5 badass PlayStation tattoos

Posted June 19th, 2013 at 12:42 EDT by Richard Archer3 Comments

What do you do to show how much you love your PlayStation ? Perhaps you challenge yourself to win the latest games Trophies, spar with rivals on forums or maybe you might get a tattoo ?

Over the last 20 years tattoos have increased in popularity to where they are now seen as art rather than a rite of passage or defiance. Indeed, it seems anything goes as far as a choice of tattoo and it's no surprise that there are plenty of PS related ones available.

Read on to see what I think are the top 5 PlayStation-related tattoos that I have trawled the Internet to bring you. Tattoos that are record breakers or simply amazing works of art are all associated with the PS in ways that might surprise you.

Let's start with what is according to the Guinness Book of Records the very first PS3 tattoo ever inked.

Mobiletone, or Tony as he is known, had this to say about his record-breaking tattoo.

"How much do I love my console... It's been nearly a year since the PAL UK launch of the console and I decided to get this tattoo done in honour of what I consider to be the best console ever made. "

Sadly no information from Tony is available as to why he didn't have the official PS3 logo tattooed or what he is going to do now the release of the PS4 is imminent.

The next tattoo is inspired by the critically-acclaimed PlayStation Network title Journey from thatgamecompany. I'll let the recipient Madjas00 tell you why they had it done.

"Journey was a game that I downloaded not knowing what to expect... About 2 hours later after beating it all I could say was wow. A couple of weeks after beating it I decided to get my favorite scene from the game tattooed on my arm. "

So, it seems sometimes platinum Trophies aren't enough and maybe tattoo vouchers could be offered by Sony as part of the new reward scheme for PS4 game completions ?

The PS controller is an image that has become synonymous with gaming, and therefore the device or sometimes just the iconic PS buttons have become a popular choice for gaming tattoos. Now, there are a lot of people who have had controllers tattooed on various parts of their body but only one person who has had one inked on their hands.

Sadly I was unable to track down the owner of this tattoo for a comment so we can only speculate as to why they chose this design and why they opted to have it tattooed on their hand of all places.

SackBoy is gaming's whippersnapper having only being around five years, but this hasn't deterred people from showing their love of LittleBigPlanet by getting him tattooed somewhere on their body.

That was certainly my favorite SackBoy tattoo, though sadly the recipient is German and I didn't have time to run the page through Google translate. Okay, I did have time but I felt it could be better spent, like finding the last and best tattoo for this article.

God of War games inspire devotion from all of Kratos' many fans, and a lot of them feel this devotion will only be complete if the bald badass becomes a part of them, hence the desire for a related tattoo of the spartan. This God of War-inspired tattoo goes beyond the simple love of a character and takes the whole genre of gaming tattoos to the next amazing level.

So there you have it, five PS-related tattoos that show when it comes to love of gaming there are certainly no limits if you want everyone to see just how much you love your PS or your favorite game.

When it comes to gaming tattoos do you have one or perhaps thinking of getting one? Let us know in the comments section below.

Xbox 180? Microsoft reverses Xbox One DRM policy after PlayStation dominates at E3

You are here: Home » News » Xbox 180? Microsoft reverses Xbo...

Posted June 19th, 2013 at 18:11 EDT by Ernest Lin31 Comments

In a huge surprise, Microsoft has done a complete 180 with the Xbox One and has removed its controversial digital rights management protection, which included requiring the console to connect to the internet once every 24 hours and complicated restrictions on used games. The news comes after last week's E3, where Sony dominated with their PlayStation 4.

In a statement posted on the official Xbox website, Don Mattrick, President, Interactive Entertainment Business for Microsoft, wrote, "You told us how much you loved the flexibility you have today with games delivered on disc. The ability to lend, share, and resell these games at your discretion is of incredible importance to you. Also important to you is the freedom to play offline, for any length of time, anywhere in the world."

"So, today I am announcing the following changes to Xbox One and how you can play, share, lend, and resell your games exactly as you do today on Xbox 360."

Microsoft has done away with any restrictions on used Xbox One games and no longer requires an online connection for the console, except for a "one-time system set-up." In addition, Xbox One will not be region-locked, as it was originally supposed to.

Sony announced last week at their E3 press conference that the PS4 will not block used games or require any internet connection whatsoever. Soon afterwards, they confirmed the system would be region-free as well.

PS4 still benefits from a $100 cheaper price point, but this new development makes the Xbox One more appealing than it was before. How do you think this will change the console war going forward? Let us know in the comments and keep checking back here at PSU for all the latest on PlayStation.
