There are a lot of reasons why someone might want to check out a guide like T Dub Sanders'. One might be interested in the underside of the game testing field. Others might just want to know what they can gain from a guide that is written to help people understand their role in the gaming industry. Others still are just pining for that ultimate career working alongside game developers and designers.

Whatever the reason, T Dub Sanders has put together one of the biggest and best game testing guides on the market – one that shows the underpinnings of the career in their raw, real format. There are no false promises of automatic testing or sitting at home and playing the newest games for hundreds of dollars a day.

That stuff is all pretty much a pipe dream and most people know it – yet many guide writers try to tell everyone that they can become the biggest and best new game testers in a field that doesn't really exist every day and too many fall for it. On the other hand, what T Dub has put together is a much more realistic, much more comprehensive look at what game testing is really about – the hard work and dedication that goes into becoming someone in charge of all that code each day.

By showing what it really takes to be a game tester, T Dub opens up an actual, realistic path to getting into the industry. He showcases skills needed to get started as a tester, the classes or college majors that people better be willing to invest in if they want to be a professional in this field and much more to help them figure out not only if the career path is right for them but if they are going to be cut out for it. That means a great deal for someone who may or may not know exactly what a game tester does and how it operates.

For anyone that is thinking about taking the path toward becoming a game tester, one of the first things that needs to be done is to learn more about what the career entails. Those people should pick up T Dub's newest guide and get a real insider's look at the job and how it really works. If you're serious about doing what T Dub shows you, you'll be on the fast track toward game testing in no time flat.

PS4 vs Xbox One: Amazon ends poll due to overwhelming Sony victory

Amazon has pulled the curtains down on its user poll between the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, after Sony’s next-generation attracted a massive 94.7 per cent of votes.

For those out of the loop, the retail giant set up the poll on its Facebook page on June 13 following all the hype at E3 last week to determine which machine gamers were more interested in.

All in all it was a landslide victory for PS4, with 38984 votes attributed to Sony’s console while Microsoft’s next-gen rig pulled in 2162. Amazon had originally planned to run the poll until June 20, though given the overwhelming number of votes in favour of the PS4, they cut it short.

Sony and Microsoft flexed their next-gen muscles at E3 last week, though PS4 in particular seemed to attract a lot of praise due to its stance on DRM and used games. Microsoft on the other hand were heavily criticised due to their implementation of such restrictions.

Looking back, how do you feel Sony did at E3? Do you think all the criticism directed at Microsoft is justified? Sound off in the comments section below.

PS4 Final Fantasy title listed on Amazon France

The French arm of Amazon posted a listing for ‘Final Fantasy PS4’ earlier today before quickly pulling it offline.

Check it out on AGB.

The timing couldn’t be more appropriate, seeing as how developer Square Enix is hosting a ‘Future of Final Fantasy’ event tomorrow in Los Angeles, as part of its E3 2013 showcase.

One title in particular that is on everyone’s mind is the elusive Final Fantasy Versus XIII, which was announced as a PS3 exclusive back in 2006. Since then, the game has made sporadic appearances at trade shows, though a release continues to elude us.

However, it was reported back in March that the game had received a name change to Final Fantasy 15, and would be released exclusively on Sony’s next-generation console, then known by its codename Orbis.

If Sony has nabbed a new Final Fantasy title as an exclusive for PS4, then that’s a major advantage over the competition.

Stay tuned to PSU.com for more details.

PS4, Xbox One Amazon UK pre-orders are almost neck-and-neck

Posted June 10th, 2013 at 07:16 EDT by Mike Harradence6 Comments

Retail giant Amazon UK has revealed that pre-orders for PlayStation 4 are a mere 2.3 per cent behind those for Xbox One.

Speaking in a press release today (via VG247), the company noted that both machines are drumming up a lot of excitement among gamers, and that Sony and Microsoft’s next-generation rigs are set 'have a huge impact.'

It also noted that pre-orders for Xbox One are 20 per cent higher than its predecessor's efforts in the months leading up to its November 2005 launch.

“It’s not clear yet which of the two will have the edge when they launch later this year – what’s certain, though, is that fans are already excited about how the next generation of consoles will change the world of gaming and home entertainment,” said Amazon EU’s Xavier Garabois.

Amazon UK’s head of videogames, Ketu Patel, added: “Both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are set to have a huge impact, not just in terms of cutting edge games but also as part of the way in which families enjoy home entertainment.

“It will be fascinating to see how the battle between the two console giants develops over the coming months – the fight for who’s going to be the must-have Christmas present is only just beginning.”

PS4 and Xbox One are due to launch this holiday season. Both machines will be out in full force at E3 this week, with Sony and Microsoft's press conferences due to kick off later today.
